Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

StylistScout is a hair salon directory that helps consumers find salons and allows salon owners to manage their business listing and accept appointment bookings. StylistScout is the platform operator — it is not a salon, a staffing agency, or a party to any service agreement between a consumer and a salon.

2. Visitor Terms

You may browse the directory without creating an account. When using the site you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically copy salon data without prior written consent.
• Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to interfere with the site's operation or security.
• Submit false or misleading information through any form on the site.

3. Bookings — Platform Role and Liability

StylistScout provides a booking tool that lets consumers request appointments at claimed salon profiles. By submitting a booking you acknowledge:

• The contract is between you and the salon. StylistScout is not a party to the appointment. Any dispute about service quality, pricing, cancellation, or no-shows is solely between you and the salon.
• StylistScout is not responsible for service outcomes. We do not vet, license, or supervise the salons listed on the platform. Ratings shown are sourced from Google Places and are not independently verified by us.
• Confirmation is subject to salon acceptance. A booking request does not guarantee an appointment until the salon confirms it. Check your email for a confirmation from the salon.
• Cancellation and refund policies are set by the salon, not by StylistScout. Contact the salon directly for cancellations.

StylistScout's maximum liability in connection with any booking is limited to the platform service fee paid to us in the 30 days preceding the claim, or $0 if no fee was charged.

4. Salon Owner Accounts

4.1 Claiming a Profile

Salon profiles are pre-populated from publicly available data (Google Places). To claim a profile you must:

• Be the owner or an authorized representative of the salon.
• Provide a valid business email address that you control.
• Agree to these Terms on behalf of the business.

Claiming a profile you do not own or are not authorized to represent is a material breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to revoke any claim, suspend the account, and refer fraudulent claims for legal action. If you believe a profile has been claimed fraudulently, email hello@stylistscout.com.

4.2 Subscription and Billing

Claimed profiles are available on a paid subscription plan:

• Price: $29 per month per salon, billed monthly.
• Trial: A 14-day free trial is available on first sign-up. No charge until the trial ends. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
• Billing cycle: Your subscription renews automatically on the same day each month. You will receive an email receipt from Stripe after each charge.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.
• Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial months. If a charge was made in error, contact us within 7 days and we will review it.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your card details. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's Terms of Service.

4.3 Portfolio Uploads and Content Rules

Salon owners may upload photos to their profile portfolio. By uploading content you confirm:

• You own or have a valid license to use the photo.
• You have obtained consent from any identifiable person depicted.
• The photo depicts genuine work performed at your salon.

The following are prohibited:

• Photos taken from a competitor's website or social media without permission.
• Stock photography presented as original salon work.
• Sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise offensive content.
• Images that contain personal information about individuals without their consent.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules without notice. Repeated violations will result in account suspension.

4.4 Accuracy of Listing Information

Once you claim a profile, you are responsible for keeping your business information (address, phone, hours, services) accurate and up to date. Misleading information — including fake reviews, inaccurate pricing, or false service descriptions — is a violation of these Terms.

4.5 Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you: violate these Terms, fail to pay your subscription, or engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior. Upon termination, your profile returns to unclaimed status and remains publicly visible in the directory. You may export your booking history by contacting us before termination takes effect.

5. Directory Data and Google Places

Unclaimed salon profiles are pre-populated with publicly available data sourced from the Google Places API, including business name, address, phone number, hours, ratings, and photos. This data is provided for informational purposes. StylistScout does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.

Photos displayed on unclaimed profiles are served via Google Places and are attributed accordingly ("Photos via Google Places"). These photos remain subject to Google's terms and the rights of the original photographers. Salon owners who claim their profile may replace Google Places photos with their own portfolio uploads.

If you are a salon owner and want your business removed from the directory entirely, email hello@stylistscout.com and we will remove the listing within 5 business days.

6. Intellectual Property

The StylistScout name, logo, editorial design, and all original site content are owned by StylistScout and may not be reproduced without written permission.

By uploading content to your salon profile, you grant StylistScout a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the platform and in promotional materials (for example, social media posts featuring your salon). You retain ownership of your content. This license ends when you remove the content or close your account.

7. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The directory data is accurate, complete, or current.
• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Any salon listed is licensed, insured, or professionally qualified.

Ratings shown are aggregated from Google and do not represent StylistScout's endorsement of any salon.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StylistScout and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to: dissatisfaction with a salon service, a missed or cancelled appointment, or reliance on directory information. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed $100 or the amount paid to us in the prior 30 days, whichever is greater.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to salon owners by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
